RESUME

Diamanto Stylianou is a freelance translator, interpreter and language professional, based in Limassol, Cyprus. Committed to providing high-quality professional translation services, Diamanto has been a long-time collaborator of companies, NGOs and law firms in Cyprus and internationally since 2010.

Born in 1987 in Limassol, Cyprus, she studied Foreign Languages Applied to Translation (Licence LEA - English, Spanish, French) at the University of Nice - Sophia Antipolis from which she graduated in 2008. She continued her studies in Technical Translation at the University of Aix-Marseille (Master 1 – Métiers de la Traduction, 2009) and in Business Translation at the University of Surrey, UK (MA in Business Translation with Interpreting, 2010). Upon completing an internship at the Greek Translation Unit of the European Court of Auditors in Luxembourg, she returned to Cyprus where she began her career as a freelance translator, offering services to private companies, law offices and NGOs in various domains.

 

To this date, she has subtitled in Greek over forty National Theatre Live© productions, broadcast live from London’s stages to the Rialto Theatre in Limassol and THOC in Nicosia. She is a long-time collaborator of the Rialto Theatre in Limassol. Apart from her career in Translation, Diamanto has also developed a strong interest in the Performing Arts and the cultural scene of Cyprus. Since 2012, she has been actively involved in the organisation of the island’s major film festivals, organised by the Ministry of Education and Culture, working as the jury secretary and interpreter of Cyprus Film Days IFF, the International Short Film Festival of Cyprus and Lemesos International Documentary Festival.

She is a regular member of the Pancyprian Union of Graduate Translators and Interpreters, as well as a member of the Sworn Translators Register of the Ministry of Interior - Press and Information Office.
